Project Amigo owes both its beginnings and its longevity to the “service above self” contributions of thousands of Rotarians and Rotary clubs. We were the official international service “project” of the Rotary Club of Novato, CA between 1996 and 2002. Today we are an independent public charity and asociacion civil recognized in United States, Canada, and Mexico, and we continue to thank Rotarians and Rotary clubs for their deep, generous, and continued support.

Project Amigo’s mission is to support youth in Colima, Mexico to create their own educational opportunities and better their quality of life. We also offer opportunities for international, life-changing service to those of greater means which is a perfect match for serving significantly, generously and effectively beyond oneself.

Individual Rotarians and Rotary clubs can:

• Sponsor junior high, high school, and university scholars through the Scholarship Program; encourage Club participation in the Scholarship program

• Serve with us in Mexico at a Project Amigo Service Week

• Bring your entire Club down for a Project Amigo Service Week!

• Invite Project Amigo representatives to make a presentation to your Rotary club

• Develop club or district grants to fund the purchase of books for our ongoing Literacy program

• Contribute to various “special need” campaigns that arise each year
