Ways to Give
Our generous sponsors and passionate volunteers drive the core of Project Amigo: providing student sponsorships and humanitarian service. Surrounding this core is a continual need for other contributions to support special programs. All US donations are tax-deductible.
The General Fund exists to cover predictable ongoing costs and unpredictable costs as they arise. When you donate to the General Fund you allow us to direct funds where they are needed most. Your contribution could help us to deliver a food hamper to a hungry family, repair a broken sink, buy a bus ticket so a scholar can attend a weekend seminar, replace a worn out computer charger, or one of a thousand other things.
One-to-One Laptop and Community Cyber Campaign
Every student who enters university as a Project Amigo scholar receives a new, well-equipped laptop computer geared to the specifications of his or her program of study. Project Amigo also staffs and maintains 4 open-to-the–public cyber cafes equipped with laptops, printers and Internet access. Your contribution to this campaign sustains the ongoing success of both these programs. A laptop computer costs $500; your gifts of any amount is appreciated.
Fostering a love of learning and promoting literacy is a core part of Project Amigo. The Mini-Library Program puts brand new books in the hands of children all over the state of Colima by allowing us to purchase and deliver 200 books and a bookshelf for each school. Each library costs $1,000; your gift of any amount is welcome.
Children's Health Initiative
Occasionally a child at Project Amigo has health needs that require specialized care. Your generous support of this initiative provides medical visits to specialists, needed medical equipment, ongoing therapeutic treatment, and necessary dental treatment.
We know you care about how your gifts are invested in our programs; 85 cents of every dollar goes directly to student programs. You trust us, and we take that seriously. If you would like more information about our financials, please contact us or click on any of the links below.
